Elona, a shortened word for Eternal League of Nefia, is a free open-world roguelike RPG originally developed by a Japanese indie developer under the name Noa. Initially released back in 2007, this game combines many elements of open-world exploration, classic/traditional RPG, dungeon crawling, and life simulation. The game features complex gameplay mechanics and very high replayability. In this game, there are a myriad of character traits, roles, and professions. Your character can pursue the roles of a farmer, a pianist, a cook, an adventurer, a hero, or even a beggar. As an open-world game, the vast world offers hundreds of quests, dungeons, and jobs that you can take.

As an indie-made freeware, Elona was very popular with many fan-created variants. By 2024, a successor to Elona, called Elin, was created by the same developer and has the same features as the original game but with many new improvements including better graphics, a deeper crafting system, and new town-building mechanics.
