American McGee's Alice

Developed by Rogue Entertainment, American McGee's Alice is a 2000 third-person horror-themed action-adventure video game based on the Lewis Carroll novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, but with a wicked twist. In this game, Alice had a terrible fire accident that took the lives of her family. After several years of treatment in a psychiatric clinic, the traumatized Alice retreated to her imaginary Wonderland, only to find it disfigured and troubled because of her injured psyche.

The player must take control of Alice and help her in her journey across a wicked Wonderland to restore its innocence, and perhaps heal her mind and cure her trauma.  American McGee's Alice was well received due to its elaborate visuals and compelling storyline that leaves the players wondering "What will happen next?".

American McGee's Alice Remastered

Released in 2011 as a pre-order bonus for the game Alice: Madness Returns Complete Edition, American McGee's Alice Remastered was never released separately or anywhere else. This remastered version features a native widescreen resolution, controller support, updated textures, and compatibility fixes for modern systems. However, the developer console (~) is disabled in this version.

How to Play American McGee's Alice on Windows 10/11

To fully enjoy the game on modern systems, we suggest playing the Remastered version rather than the original version.

1. Download the Remastered Version on this page and unzip the content to an empty folder.
2. Navigate your way to the "\bin" folder inside the game's directory and open the game using alice.exe.
3. (Optional) For French, German, and Spanish Language, download the Fixed Exe file on this page. Then replace the original alice.exe with the chosen exe file in the correct language setting.
