The Typing of the Dead

Type your way to survival in this bizarre horror-themed game. The Typing of the Dead is a fun and addicting game that will force you to type on your keyboard quickly and accurately, or else. Developed by SEGA, this game is an official modification of the 1998 game, The House of the Dead 2, in which the light gun is replaced with the computer keyboard and the act of shooting is replaced with typing words.

Just like in the original game HOTD2, you will take the role of a secret agent while navigating your way through the zombie-infested Venice. However, instead of shooting the undead, you must type in the letters quickly in order to kill the fast-advancing enemies.

While this is an educational typing game, The Typing of the Dead is by no means meant for kids and young audiences. Albeit the red blood has been replaced with green blood, the horrifying faces and acts of violence make the game not suitable for children. On top of that, the game also features some dark humor and is extremely unforgiving and difficult even for those who can type fast which resulted in the game being lauded by mainstream game critics.

No Sound Fix

If the game plays but has no sound, you need to reinstall the game by following these steps:

1. Uninstall the game (delete the game folder if necessary)
2. Install the game through the install.exe file but don't run the game yet.
3. Run setup.bat.
4. Run the game.
