The Black Heart

Six horrifying creatures battle it out in search to gain untold power in this awesome fighting game filled with pixelated blood and weird pictoric landscapes. The Black Heart is an underrated 1 vs 1 fighting game developed solely by Andrés Borghi. The game features a fighting mechanic similar to Street Fighter, Dark Stalkers, or Mortal Kombat but with a more gothic and tragic theme.

This game is set in a parallel universe where a vicious yet extremely powerful creature known only as "Final" has ripped the king's heart and stored in it a great power that created the parallel world. Having heard of this, six creatures, both from our world and theirs, set on a quest to steal the heart for their own dark and greedy purposes. 

The game features six playable monster characters and one boss monster. The characters in the game are:

• Peketo - A ghost of an insane child who is obsessed with the color red.
• Shar-Makai - A giant worm monster born from Chaos.
• Ananzi - Previously known as Viuda Negra, she is the princess of the other world, and has spider-like powers.
• Hashi - From an ancient race of magical woodmen. Banished because of his violent tendencies.
• Noroko - A ghost who lies dormant within an ancient Japanese doll.
• Animus - An immortal-like creature that was tortured for centuries inside an iron maiden.
• Final - A giant creature who lives in Chaos. Final is also an unlockable playable character.

The Black Heart was initially a freeware that uses the M.U.G.E.N. game engine. After several years of development, the game was finally released as a standalone and was published by Saibot Studios. The final version of the game is available on STEAM.
