Follow the American tourist, George Stobbart, as he gets to the bottom of a murder case in the middle of Paris with this legendary point-and-click game - Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars.

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars is a point-and-click 2D adventure game following the protagonist's holiday trip to Paris. Upon witnessing an assassin dressed as a clown who stole an old man's briefcase and bombed a cafe in the middle of the city, George teamed up with a photojournalist Nicole Collard in order to track the assassin and help solve the case. Displayed in a third-person perspective, you must guide George through the game's world while solving a huge variety of puzzles. The player must converse with the NPCs to gather clues and learn the game's plot.

Unlike most games during the time, the main character's death is possible in Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, and the player will have to start again from the last save point. Will you be able to uncover the identity of a jester assassin?

The Director's Cut version, which is available in GOG, includes an additional chapter of the story, seen from Nico's perspective. On the other hand, the Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged remastered the game to have 4K visuals and enhanced audio and sound score.

To play the original Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, download the ScummVM-Ready for Windows and extract the contents to any folder. Once extracted, navigate your way inside the folder then launch the game using BrokenSword.bat. This version of the game uses the ScummVM emulator that's already included in the game folder.
