The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative adventure game about choices, freedom, storytelling, and reality. Developed by Davey Wreden and William Pugh, the game focuses on a silent protagonist and the relationship between a game creator and the player, as well as predestination/fate between the characters.
As you play the game, new meaning will slowly begin to arise. The paradoxes that once confused the player will slowly make sense, and the game itself will turn more interesting as the game interacts with the player himself. The game was originally developed in 2011 as an overhaul modification of the game Half-Life 2 and was released for free. The game was later released as a stand-alone remake in 2013 and features many of the original choices and a bunch of new areas and story pathways, as well as an overhaul of the game's graphics.
