In this game, the player must guide the chosen civilization from the stone age to the iron age, while fighting against other civilizations, gathering resources, and more. The game features a challenging campaign that requires the player to complete specific objectives. The single-player campaign follows the history of four civilizations (Egyptian, Greek, Babylonian, and Yamato), but the demo version features a specially-made scenario revolving around the Hittite Empire. In the classic AoE, you can choose between 12 civilizations that are sorted out into four distinct architectural styles that affect their in-game appearance: Asian, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Greek.

Developed by Ensemble Studios and first released back in 1997, Age of Empires is one of the most popular RTS games in history. The new Definitive Edition was launched after celebrating the 20-year legacy and offers new features to bring the classic game to modern PC including 4K UHD visuals, scenario builders, new modes, and more.
