Developed by EA Games and released in December 2004, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth is the first part of the Middle-earth strategy game which is based on Peter Jackson's hit film, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. With the story based on J. R. R. Tolkien's original novel, the game showcases short clips of the film and even uses the real voice actors. In this game, the warring factions must gather resources to train armies and construct buildings while trying to destroy the enemy factions in real-time open-world combat. The player may control legendary heroes and command massive armies over 25 missions across Middle-earth.

How to Install The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth on Windows 10/11

1. Download and install the game's Installer from this page.
2. Unzip the file to a new folder and install the game using setup.exe.
3. When asked, use one of the serials in the CD Key file. If none of the keys work, use the Keygen.
4. Once installed, close the setup.
5. Download the Patches file on this page, and install the official patch version 1.03.
6. Head over to "Patches and NoDVD\NoDVD\no-dvd_bfme_v1.03_after_patch", and copy and paste the game.dat to your game's folder directory.

Now you should be able to run the game using lotrbfme.exe. However, if you are having some issues with opening the game, you can use the Win-bfme-fixer.bat which is located in "Patches and NoDVD\Misc\Fix-Win-Crash-AppData-Options\". Launch the Win-bfme-fixer.bat as Administrator.  We also recommended launching any setups and installers in compatibility mode with Windows XP and as Administrator.
