Anno 1701 A.D. (marketed simply as 1701 A.D.) is a real-time strategy and city-building game that focuses on economics and resource management. The game is set in the 16th and 17th centuries when the era of discoveries and maritime trading was at its highest peak. The game features two game modes: Continuous play and Scenarios. The Continous play mode offers a customization option that allows the players to alter some game settings before starting such as determining the island types and toggling various disasters.

Start a game with an unnamed country and colonize and expand your way up. Defend against rival nations or invade them for their resources!
