The game features an identical level design to the classic Super Mario, but with several key differences: you're a cat, and the level is filled with all kinds of traps.

In Cat Mario, you will play as a white cat trying to go as far as possible in a Mario-esque world, and your only form of defense is to jump. Just like in Super Mario, you can defeat enemies by jumping and trampling them from above, but that's just about it. No power-ups are helpful, some might be slightly useful but they will come with a hefty price. Almost every part of the levels are laced with traps - most won't activate unless it's too late for you to do anything. Dying is normal and the game counts the number you've failed.
