Diablo

Get the authentic experience as you play the legendary RPG. Battle the darkness that's lurking underneath the little town of Tristram in Diablo. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo is an isometric dark-themed fantasy RPG and is the first game of the series. 

Considered one of the greatest games of all time, Diablo is an action role-playing game where the player can must explore procedurally-generated dungeons to interact with the environment, battle horrifying creatures, and complete the story. The player can learn different spells depending on the class they choose, and acquire different items that will allow their avatars to get stronger.

There are three classes in the game, four if you include the Hellfire expansion. The three character classes are The Warrior, The Rogue, and The Sorcerer, while the added expansion class is The Monk. Each class has its initial attributes and a unique skill that goes along with it. Unlike the later titles, you can equip and learn all items and skills in Diablo regardless of your class.

The game is set in the small town of Tristram (later called Old Tristram in the sequels) where the player must head to the local church and descend into the labyrinth under the Cathedral. As the player goes deeper into the dungeons, he/she will encounter monstrous abominations such as demons and undead. The goal of the game is to stop evil from surfacing by defeating strong enemies like the undead King Leoric, Archbishop Lazarus, and Diablo himself.

Although many argue about its official release date, the game was initially distributed in some parts of the Western US back on December 31, 1996. However, it was later announced that the official release date was on January 3, 1997.
