The House of the Dead

Enjoy the retro horror as you vanquish grotesque creatures, slay abominations, and blast zombies' heads in the original House of the Dead game. The House of the Dead is a horror rail shooter light gun game that was released back on September 13, 1996, by SEGA Entertainment.

The game follows the agent Thomas Rogan and "G" as they try to combat the products of dangerous inhumane experiments and bring the mad scientist Dr. Curien to justice. Unlike your regular first-person shooters (FPS), you don't have the freedom to move around in a rail shooter game. Thus, your character will follow a set course in which your only option is to shoot whatever comes your way and try to survive the hordes and hordes of monstrosities you come across. The game itself is rather challenging and features intense blood and gore that are certainly not suitable for kids. 

As the first installment of the House of the Dead series, the game was well received and both the arcade cabinet (light gun) version and the PC version garnered positive reviews and were reviewed as one of the best arcade shooters during its time.
