Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest

Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest is a legendary fantasy-themed turn-based strategy game that is a spin-off to the Might and Magic RPG series. Developed by New World Computing in 1995, this successful game led to many sequels and inspired many similar games.

The game follows the story of Lord Morglin Ironfist, who is forced to flee his kingdom because of the usurper named Ragnar. Fleeing through a magical portal, Morglin found himself in a new uncharted land called Enroth - filled with both resources and dangers. Once the player completes the game, Lord Morglin will rule over the new land and establish his own kingdom - thus ending the story of the first game.

The game's goal is to ultimately capture all enemy castles and defeat all enemy heroes. HoMM comes with many different scenarios and most of them have unique victory conditions such as finding a certain artifact or accumulating a set amount of gold. With four different classes, dozens of units, a plethora of buildings, and upgrades to do, Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest is one solid classic and a great beginning of the legendary saga.
