Mega Man X4

The Sky Lagoon is in danger of crashing! Play as X or Zero and defeat Maverick Sigma in this cool action-platformer game - Mega Man X4. Released as Rockman X4 in Japan, this 2D side-scrolling platform game is the fourth game of the series and features the ability to play as the sword-wielding Maverick Hunter named Zero.

The game features the traditional Mega Man X gameplay where the player must battle through a series of areas to defeat the boss found at the end. Unlike previous titles, however, X4 showcases better 32-bit graphics and other small gameplay improvements.

Playable Characters

X - The iconic Mega Man character that has an X-buster plasma cannon attached to its right arm. Each shot can be charged to deal more damage. X can obtain armor upgrades that will make the character stronger. After defeating each boss, X can acquire special weapons with limited ammunition.

Zero - Weilding the Z-Saber sword, Zero is a melee-oriented character that can acquire new skills after defeating each boss. These skills include air dash and double jump which are sometimes necessary to bypass other levels and locate secrets. Unfortunately, Zero can't upgrade any of his parts.

Although the levels that the two characters will have to go through are the same, both characters play very differently from each other - giving the game more replay value. Generally, playing the game as Zero will make the game a tad more challenging, but also more rewarding.
