SimFarm: SimCity's Country Cousin

SimFarm: SimCity's Country Cousin, more commonly known as simply Sim Farm, is a 1993 spin-off of the popular game SimCity. Developed by Maxis, this game is about managing a virtual farm with the goal of making the small farm more prosperous. Unlike SimCity which focuses on active building, however, SimFarm revolves around planning and planting schedules for fields and choosing which crops to grow and when to sell them.

SimFarm is similar to many modern idle games that involve a lot of waiting time. Crops grow slowly and even the right time to sell them requires a bit of patience. The game features many different crops each modeled with unique growth time, susceptibility to fungus, pests, and weeds, optimal temperature, and water needs, as well as how efficient they are to be stored.
