Ever wanted to produce your own Hollywood movie? Well now you can - just not in Hollywood. Be the owner of a movie studio and produce your film in this fantastic sim game. Developed by Lionhead Studios, The Movies is a business simulation game where the player gets to a Hollywood film studio and manages the business from scratch to stardom. 

In this game, the player can direct, write, edit, and produce his/her movie while managing actors and everything that comes in between. The game features a plethora of assets that the players can use for their movies, and can even upload their movie creations to the official website during the game's peak years. An expansion pack called The Movies: Stunts and Effects provides additional improvements including expanded environments and clothing options, more camera placement availability, new special effects, and stunts as well as the stuntmen. The Movies became so popular that it even received many awards including the "Best Simulation Award" in 2006.

How to Install The Movies on Windows 10/11

1. Download The Movies ISO Version on this page.
2. Extract the content of the zip file to any folder. Inside there will be three folders named "CD1", "CD2", and "CD3".
3. Download and install WinCDEmu or another similar application.
4. Use WinCDEmu to mount all .cue files on the three folders. (movieisocd1.cue, movieisocd2.cue, and movieisocd3.cue). Have each CD mounted on its own virtual drive.
5. Navigate to the mounted CD1 and open Setup.exe to install the game.
6. In the installation prompt, use the CD-Key: "9KH4-HDDJ-H97G-NNV4-AF27", and/or "YHP9-GJTU-9NHN-P4BU-B215".
7. Do not install any DirectX9 or Windows Media Player (as Windows 10/11 already has more advanced versions)
8. Navigate to the mounted CD1's "Crack" folder.
9. Copy Movies.exe to the game's directory. Default folder is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lionhead Studios Ltd\The Movies\"
10. Now you can eject all the mounted virtual drives. Play the game using Movies.exe.

How to Install The Movies: Stunts and Effects Expansion Pack on Windows 10/11

1. Download the Stunts and Effects Expansion Pack file on this page.
2. Extract the content of the zip file to any folder.
3. Install the addon using TheMoviesSetup.exe.
4. On the game's launcher, change the settings by right-clicking the file and opening the "Properties"
5. Under the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 7".
6. On the same tab, check "Disable full-screen optimizations", then press "Apply" and "Ok".
7. Now you should be able to run the game with the new addon.
